Babel Concept Store - Paris
Nestled along the west side of the trendy Canal Saint-Martin in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the new Babel Concept Store offers a selection of vintage items strewn amongst designer apparel (my favorite is the ironic bedazzled Paris Sucks hat), jewelry, leather goods, accessories, furniture, and decorative objects, all curated carefully by the shop owners. In addition to running a store, each month Babel also organizes events such as exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, and photographs that mingle perfectly alongside the creations already present in the shop. If you are looking for a truly unique souvenir or gift for someone from Paris, Babel is the place. I bought one of the pocket watch necklaces, pictured above, that will remind me of Paris every time I wear it around my neck. For those that might not be able to make it to City of Light in the near future, the store is in the process of creating an online shop--so stay tuned. Babel is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 to 19:30, and Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00.
